BFW 2024 STREET SYLE

Berlin Fashion Week is making a return to fashion. For about 15 years, starting in 2007, it was known as Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin, as Mercedes-Benz was its biggest sponsor. The partnership ended in 2022, and ever since, Berlin has been proving time and time again that it undeniably deserves its spot in the fashion world. BFW is currently sponsored by the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises (SenWEB).

The MSF team was happy to attend BFW shows following the announcement that sustainability requirements will be introduced from February 2026 onwards. Thesrequirements will be mandatory criteria for brands participating in the event, aligning with guidelines of Copenhagen Fashion Week, introduced in January 2023.

By implementing sustainability requirements, Berlin will become one of the leading international locations for a responsible and innovative fashion industry,

says the departments state secretary, Michael Biel.

STUDIO MAJÈRE UNZUCHT'

Studio MAJÈRE, a Berlin-based slow fashion brand, showed their collection, titled UNZUCHT, which is German for adultery and/or fornication. With garments and visual direction inspired from Boschs Garden of Earthly Delights, natural elements are used and sourced from industrial remnants and second-hand finds, highlighting the symbiosis between the human, the animal and nature itself.
